Abstract: |
The investigations determined that the features in the study area were for the most part components of the water supply system for a later eighteenth century copper smelting complex at Roundwood Quay. One of the sectioned features was probably a leat associated with the system but the other was likely to a twentieth century military trench, possibly associated with D-Day preparations in the area.
