Abstract: |
Three areas were investigated: The Western Docks, and the scheduled sites of Archcliffe Fort and The Western Heights Fort. Nothing dating from earlier than the post-medieval period was observed at The Western Docks and the two forts were expected to be left undisturbed. However it was recommended that further evaluation or full excavation might be necessary at the docks, and that any proposed surface work in the scheduled areas must include an appropriate archaeological response.[AIP] |
