Abstract: |
Seven trenches, of varying dimension, were excavated to locate previously recorded geophysical anomalies. The evaluation suggested that these anomalies were actually caused by lenses of charcoal and clinker within the topsoil from modern burning, rather than buried archaeological features. The form and extent of the ridge and furrow earthworks were recorded in plan and in section, and two distinct groups were identified, separated by a bank. A small sub rectangular platform surrounded by a ditch, purpose unclear was also recorded. [Au(adp)] |
