Abstract: |
<summary>Recording and observation work was undertaken on the excavation of four narrow service trenches. The work demonstrated the high degree of post-medieval activity in the area. No evidence was found which might help to identify a precise location for the medieval nunnery thought to be in the vicinity. However, the recovery of medieval pottery was indicative of medieval activity in the area. Concentrations of stone found were thought to relate to a period of dumping and levelling of unknown date; the remains were derived from buildings of possible medieval date. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
