Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring of the former waterworks site revealed only post-medieval rubbish pits. No evidence for medieval settlement was recorded despite the proximity of the medieval church of St Peter and St Paul. This suggested that the area had probably been thoroughly cleared prior to the construction of the waterworks building. [Au] |
