An intermittent watching brief was carried out during the excavation of trial holes prior to the renewal of water mains throughout the centre of Leicester. The excavation of trial holes was observed in 19 separate locations, with only one, revealing any archaeological deposits. This trial holes was located in The Newarke and contained undressed stone rubble. [AIP] |
