Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on the site of a proposed extension to Pilgrims School. The two trenches excavated revealed a similar sequence of alluvial silts overlain by deep garden soil that had developed since the late medieval period. Investigation of deeper deposits could not be achieved because of their depth and because of the watertable. The evaluation was therefore unable to consider the full potential of archaeological deposits on the site, if they existed. [Au(adp)] |
