Abstract: |
An arcaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of swimming pool. The development area lay close to the alignment of the Anglo-Saxon boundary of Faversham as defined in charters of AD 839 and 892. Nothing of archaeological significance was revealed, which was due to the past arable use of the site, although tree stumps and roots seen as dark smudges indicated that the site had been wooded in antiquity.
