Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of trenches for ducting and other functions within and adjacent to a Listed Building, dating from 1913. A feature containing fragments of 19th century ceramics and glass was observed. Pebble cobbles were identified at two locations, and a concentration of animal bones was noted. A dressed sandstone wall and further sandstone pieces which may have represented separate foundations were recorded. These predated the 19th century, and may have dated from as early as the 17th century. [Au(abr)] |
