Abstract:
A watching brief was carried out during the development of houses on land adjacent to Mill Mead, Ashington. The condition on the granting of planning permission was that a review of the documentary sources be undertaken, then that the groundworks be observed by an archaeologist. Several field boundaries in the form of ditches and one bank were detected, and identified by map regression analysis as being of 19th century date. [Au(abr)]
