Abstract: |
The recording took the form of historical research of the farm and chapel, a measured survey of the buildings within the survey area and the removal of the internal features of the farmhouse that revealed that the floor had been levelled prior to its construction, and the only earlier features found were under the fireplace. Here two small circular pits containing dark burnt fills were discovered, one of which contained local eighteenth century pot sherds. To the southwest of the farmhouse a group of outbuildings was uncovered. The removal of the cement floor in one of the structures led to the discovery of a blocked up well and no other earlier features survived. [Au(abr)] |
