Abstract: |
The earliest feature recorded by the investigation was a linear ditch containing sherds of late 3rd or 4th century pottery in its fill. The possibility of a villa being present close to the site is postulated on the basis of a stone sarcophagus found in East Ness in the early 17th century. Six large post pits in the centre of the site were probably associated with a large barn of probable post-medieval date. [Au(abr)] |
