Abstract: |
The agricultural work involved no excavation other than light trowelling across the exposed surfaces commensurate with making a drawn record of the exposed stratigraphy. This produced a sequence of events associated with the infilling of the medieval ditch with some evidence that there may have been potential for the survival of environmental evidence dating to the 12th to 15th centuries AD, with earlier Romano-British non-continuous occupation. At a date after the ditch had been infilled, a second much smaller ditch was cut, probably in the late post-medieval or early modern period. [Au(abr)] |
