Abstract: |
In response to a planning application, four boreholes were drilled and two trenches excavated. It appears from historic maps that the site area was located under the Kings Fishpool, indeed the evaluation revealed pool sediments sealed by 2.5m of overburden. These sediments dated to between the later 11th and 18th centuries. The deposits encountered were to some extent waterlogged and well preserved. Later deposits represented the raising of the ground level. [Au(abr)] |
