Abstract: |
An assessment of the available archaeological evidence for the Southgate Street site revealed the possibility of important Roman and medieval archaeology. The application area might include the outer defences of the Roman town along with possible suburban houses and industrial activity areas. The area was also occupied by suburbs in the medieval period and by defences during the Civil War.\n |
