Abstract: |
A watching brief was held over machine excavated trenches for a new bungalow to the north-east of 17 Cross Road, Deal. Four features were recorded, one containing finds of Late Neolithic date. These were considered to be a highly important assemblage of considerable value to Neolithic studies in Kent. The other features comprised three shallow, inter-cutting pits of probable Roman date, finds indicated late 1st to early 2nd century A.D., but it was not possible to examine the features in detail.
