Abstract: |
<summary>Documentary research was carried out on the development site, which lay within the Eurotunnel line of deviation. The report presents evidence of features relating to the later prehistoric, early Roman, medieval and post-medieval landscapes and associated medieval settlement pattern. Areas of archaeological importance include Waterbrook Farm (important as a farm centre exploiting and managing local watercourses), the East Stour flood plain (focus for Iron Age and Roman settlement), Iron Age field systems and cultivation remains, and the Morris Spot enclosure and closely associated building. Possible further archaeological investigations are suggested. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
