Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation in response to the discovery of human remains at the site revealed features from the Roman to modern periods. Roman linear cut features, pits and post holes containing rich finds such as jewellery were recorded. These were cut by Saxon and medieval features including graves. Indications of Anglo-Saxon, Anglian and Anglo-Scandinavian settlement were encountered as well as the remains of the medieval cemetery of St. Stephen's Church. [Au(adp)] |
