Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological investigation was undertaken in order to establish the archaeological potential of the proposed route of a relief road. Archaeological features were encountered, including features indicative of medieval iron working in the vicinity and man-made water channels which may have related to further forms of industrial activity such as tanning. Evidence of a post-medieval boundary and a rubbish pit were also located as well as an undated gully. [Au(adp)] |
