Abstract: |
While no evidence of the Roman road was observed during selective cleaning of the machine opened area, a small evaluation trench, excavated in the north-eastern port of the study area, revealed a series of intercutting post-medieval ditches. It was concluded that the road, which survives to a depth of as little as 150mm below the present ground surface elsewhere south of the site, had been totally destroyed at this location. [Au(abr)] |
