Abstract: |
Three trenches were excavated in response to proposals for the construction of a new church hall. None of the trenches were deep enough to record pre-medieval layers. A chalk and flint wall and the footings for another wall, as well as clay floors were noted. A hearth was located, demonstating the existence of medieval dwellings predating the construction of the church. Demolition layers were in evidence, as well as post-medieval pits and layers and the remains of a Victorian cess-tank. [Au(abr)] |
