Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during Derelict Land Works which constituted the capping of unused mine shafts. The watching brief revealed a substantial amount of information concerning the use of the site in the eighteenth century opencast mine, and subsequent post-medieval development of the site. [AIP]
