Abstract: |
The results of the watching brief revealed that the bridge, which may have originally been built during the 18th century, was later widened and repaired in the 19th century. Dating evidence was provided by the presence of wedge markings (c. 1500-1800) and feather and tare drill markings (after 1800). The bridge had previously been repaired and reinforced with concrete on its northern end during the late 20th century. [Au(abr)] |
