Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the digging of a drainage channel at Halecombe Quarry. Most of the archaeology destroyed was post-medieval demolition layers. It is likely that these layers represent a farmstead which seals an earlier, medieval, occupation site which is represented by an area of pitched paving, a pit/ditch and an area nearby which seems to contain ridge and furrow.
