Abstract: |
The survey was carried out as part of the initial stages of a project to manage the woodland. A complex of holloways, quarries and funerary monuments demonstrated the range of archaeological material in the study area. Bronze Age round barrows formed part of a larger cemetery, and a trackway linked the area to the Fosse Way, which bounded the site to the east. Three post-medieval boundary stones were also recorded.
