Abstract: |
An assessment of Nanny Moore's Bridge, Bude was carried out prior to the implementation of a Flood Alleviation Scheme by the National Rivers Authority. Historical sources were consulted and Nanny Moore's Bridge was discussed and interpreted. It is an18th century packhorse and cart bridge, now only suitable for pedestrians. It was considered possible that the bridge, road and associated cottages replaced an earlier tidal mill and pond. It was stated that a watching brief during works for the Flood Alleviation Scheme might help clarify things. [AIP] |
