Abstract: |
Two lengths of a boundary wall were constructed on the street frontage of the yard at the Old Fire Station. The wall was built before the trenches could be recorded and any possible features were lost. Search of the spoil heaps recovered representative samples of 12 sherds of pottery and tile and 1 oyster shell dating from the 17th century onwards. No medieval features appear to have been present, nor any structures despite a few fragments of yellow brick and some flint pebbles. [Au(abr)] |
