Abstract: |
An assessment of the archaeological and historical importance of two hedgerows was undertaken using the criteria established in the Hedgerow Regulations Act 1997 (Appendix 1). Neither were parish or township boundaries, and neither incorporated archaeological features or were within an archaeological site. Neither hedgerow, in current knowledge, marked the boundary of a pre-1600 estate or manor, however one of the hedges was part of a field system predating the Enclosure Acts, although part had already been removed.
