Abstract: |
Four features were observed in the sides of a footing trench excavated to extend an outbuilding on the site. Three of these were obviously modern and related to relatively recent structures and activities within the farmyard. The fourth- a shallow depression- was not conclusively modern in origin yet it was unlikely to have represented part of the moat. No evidence was collected to support the hypothesis that Moat Farm was a medieval moated site. [Au] |
