Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land proposed for development as two units and associated parking facilities. Deep deposits of post-medieval material were present on the site, and it was thought that ground disturbance associated with the proposed development was likely to be limited below this depth. No medieval layers or archaeological features were identified during the evaluation. Deposits revealed in one of the trenches were suggestive of either levelling of the site or the infill of a large feature (such as a quarry pit). [Au(abr)] |
