Abstract: |
An assessment was carried out in response to proposals for the conversion of the site into a Civic Amenity, with waste collection and recycling facilities. The assessment indicated that the area of proposed development had the potential for Roman and prehistoric archaeological deposits based upon finds in the immediate vicinity of the site. Later agricultural used meant that the potential for remains from medieval and later periods was low. 20th century construction would have impacted the archaeological remains in some areas, particularly the site of a balancing pond. However deposits may have survived away from such areas. [Au(adp)] |
