Abstract: |
Desk based assessment and field appraisal were undertaken along the four proposed routes. A number of medieval township boundaries surviving as earthworks were known, and possible remains of ridge and furrow present may also be of medieval date. The majority of sites identified were of post-medieval and modern date. These included standing buildings, the sites of now demolished farms and cottages, and sites of minor local industry, such as a possible brick kiln and furnace sites. [Au(abr)] |
