Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a dwelling. Examination of historic maps indicated that the area had been situated within an allotment or garden to the rear of a property fronting onto the main street of the village from the 18th century onwards. Three trial trenches were excavated, and a possible post-medieval metalled surface which may have represented a track or path was recorded. A small amount of pottery which dated from the 13th to the 19th centuries was recovered. [Au(adp)] |
