Abstract:		 The proposed development area was adjacent to the medieval grange of Sysonby site (LE4002), which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Medieval. Finds made in the vicinity included an iron knife, a lead cloth seal and a silver buckle/brooch. In addition, finds to the south-east and north may indicate Roman and Anglo-Saxon activity. Therefore there was some potential for similar medieval, Roman and Anglo-Saxon remains within the proposed development area. [Au(abr)]
