Abstract:
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken in advance of residential development/redevelopment. The study area fell within an area of considerable archaeological interest, nearby sites included a Roman villa (Glocs SMR 368), an Anglo-Saxon inhumation cemetery (Glocs SMR 2783), and further Anglo-Saxon burials (Glocs SMR 6823). The watching brief confirmed that there was no evidence of Roman activity as was concluded in an evaluation in 1993. There were no other archaeological remains within the study area. [AIP]
