Abstract: |
Fieldwork comprising an earthwork survey of pasture land, an intensive artefact survey of arable land, a desk-top search of existing records of archaeological sites in the area, and an appraisal of relevant published and manuscript documentation was undertaken. A gazetteer of archaeological sites was compiled. The conclusion of the report was that some sites may have been of archaeological interest and further sub-surface investigations would be necessary to determine the extent and importance of the sites, so that accurate measures could be agreed to mitigate the impact of the development.
