Abstract: |
The Cornwall Archaeological Unit was commissioned by Trethorne Golf Club to prepare an archaeological assessment and landscape survey as Phase 1 of an archaeological evaluation in advance of a proposed extension onto fields of Kestle and Kestledown farms to the east of Trethorne. Historical and archaeological summaries were created, and sites of possible archaeological interest were noted and described. A possible prehistoric enclosure and field systems of medieval and post-medieval date were the main areas of interest, but a post-medieval spring, well, trough and fords, and a Victorian water main of 1855 were also recorded.
