Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out during ground works for school buildings. Four ditches and three pits were revealed, but only one ditch produced stratified dating evidence, in the form of Anglo-Saxon pottery fragments. Residual Roman tile and prehistoric pottery fragments were recovered from another ditch. The ditches were interpreted as possibly forming a part of a defended enclosure ditch for an Anglo-Saxon settlement. [Au] |
