Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during topsoil stripping of a 3km long pipeline corridor running westawrds from Low Moor Lane to Leighton Reservoir and three sections along its course were monitored. Near the eastern end a group of relict field boundaries of medieval or later date were recorded and towards the western end (to the east of Leighton Hall farm) a trackway and two stretches of possible fieldwall footings of indeterminate date were observed. At the western end of the corridor a relict field boundary, post-medieval pits and part of the course of a light railway were recorded. [Au(abr] |
