Abstract: |
Archaeological observations were made following the excavation of footings and pad supports for the erection of a floating storage area, at a site which lay within an area where evidence for the earliest Saxon settlement within Yeovil could potentially have survived, if such evidence had existed. A small number of post-medieval pottery sherds were recovered, but the watching brief failed to identify any significant archaeological features with the exception of a former yard surface underlain by post-medieval make-up.
