Abstract: |
Nine evaluation trenches were dug in response to proposed mineral extraction. No known archaeology existed on the site but archaeology was present close by. These recovered a few probably Roman features consisting of pits serving as ovens or stoke holes. 13 1st/2nd century potsherds were recovered. The lack of associated features or finds suggests a very short time of use for the features. One flint flake and one post-medieval belt fitting were found. [AIP] |
