Abstract: |
The archaeological watching brief identified that the Mill Pond Wall and the associated rampart survived surprisingly well beneath the present ground surface. While few finds were recovered during the watching brief, the mortar round and the elm pipe provide an interesting glimpse of past activity on the site. The survival of extensive sections of the Mill Pond Wall beneath the existing ground surface indicated that future development in the vicinity of the East Side Plaza site, especially Ordnance Row.
