Although no archaeological sites had previously been recorded within the proposal area, the site lay close to the Scheduled Ancient Monument of Groby Castle and Old Hall (SAM 17066), and to the historic core of the settlement of Groby. Prehistoric and Roman sites had also previously been recorded within the vicinity. [AIP] |
