Abstract: |
Four trial trenches, 100m by 1.8m were excavated across the site of a proposed balancing pond development. This produced a total of two linear drainage features of post-medieval date and a single possible post hole. A small assemblage of 11 prehistoric worked flints were collected from the topsoil. These finds were consistent with very low levels of prehistoric activity. A Roman rim sherd was also removed from plough soil and it is likely that this was derived from, along with post-medieval finds, manuring practices during the Roman and post-medieval periods.
