Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on a greenfield site in advance of proposed development. Geophysical survey (magnetometry) had been carried out which had revealed a range of geophysical anomalies, of which some may have had an archaeological origin. Subsequent trenching to test these anomalies revealed little evidence for archaeological activity, and the relationship between the geophysical survey results and features uncovered was established in only two cases. Given the identification of no significant archaeological remains during the excavation trenching, no further archaeological input was recommended. [Au(abr)] |
