Abstract: |
Two evaluation trenches were carried out in advance of a proposed housing development. The site revealed only the natural chalk hillside with areas of colluvium, possibly the result of arable farming. The site provided negative evidence for the known Anglo-Saxon cemetery at the Thomas More School to the east and suggested its western limits must have laid on the rising ground nearer the school.
