Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief undertaken during the course of excavation of footings for four new houses showed that the site had been in use from the 11th or early 12th century. An apparent medieval structure with a flue was found although the use of it was not determinable. Evidence for divisions between the properties that fronted onto the High Street were found. During the 17th century an area had been quarried for gravel. [Au] |
