Abstract:		 Only post-medieval buildings and garden remains were identified and the area had been little developed so there was considerable potential for the preservation of below ground archaeological remains and the level of preservation for any remains identified could be very high. The Roman cemetery on King Street, by comparison, survived despite intensive post-medieval and modern use of the site and was essentially unknown prior to excavation. [Au(abr)]
