Abstract:		 A watching brief was carried out during the laying of a gas main. Several lengths of wall, made up of large limestone blocks were observed. One was thought to be the medieval town wall, the other could possibly have been the quayside wall. Some of the observed layers may have been associated with the town quay. [Au(abr)]
