Abstract: |
Evidence for prehistoric, Roman and Saxon activity was recorded in the general vicinity, though not specifically on the site. No systematic archaeological work was ever carried out on the land in the past however. The potential for medieval discoveries on the site was deemed to be much greater, and a programme of trial trenching was recommended.[AIP] |
